2024 brought us the return of the Toric, the first timepiece developed by Parmigiani Fleurier when the brand was founded in the 1990s. After remodeling the Tonda PF recently to high praise, Parmigiani Fleurier has turned its attention to its first and arguably most important collection, the Toric. The new launch includes two different models, the ultra-minimalist Toric Petite Seconde and the limited-edition Toric Chronograph Rattrapante. Both are distinguished by a hand-grained dial, the new oval-shaped PF logo, and gold movements finished to the highest detail. For this hands-on review, we focus on the Chronograph Rattrapante, produced in limited quantities…

While the past time-only Sellita-powered Aera watches clocked in at around $1,400 USD, the pricing of these chronographs is quite a step up. Converting the price to USD, the Cloud chronograph comes in at a bit over $2,500 pre-tax. That’s slightly more expensive than, for example, a Nivada Grenchen Chronomaster. Of course, there are material differences, such as the usage of 904L steel and Globolight, and the brand tries to make up the value by including two straps and a handmade pouch. Aera has sold out of their previous time-only editions, so I’m sure that the brand will also see…

In 2020, the company followed up with the Anywhere – a seemingly simpler yet also highly complex timepiece offering sunrise and sunset times for a specific location once a watchmaker has set the date, latitude, longitude, and time zone. Today, Krayon presents the Krayon Anywhere Arborea, a timepiece that reimagines Henri Rousseau’s famous painting The Virgin Forest…

Back in 2016 we saw the launch of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute collection to celebrate the 85th anniversary of their iconic reversible rectangular-cased watch. This year they added four new watches to this collection, two of which finally get us back to a case size that is nearly identical to that of the original Reverso from 1931. The Reverso has been a canvass for so many of JLC’s designs and watchmaking innovations over the years but I have to say it is so nice to get back to the basics with a legitimately unisex size and a monoface dial. As nice…

After your kid finally sheds the shy cling to your leg and runs off to the water features with their buddies, you begrudgingly gravitate toward a few unidentified parents talking. Upon entering the circle, you…
